    Greetings all!

I'm hoping there's some bakers among us!

My son turns three next month, and I've got the idea to make him a somewhat more ambitious cake this year.

He loves construction machines, gets very excited to see, say, a backhoe digging in dirt, or a dump truck dumping stuff, machines digging in snow, etc.

So my idea is to do a cake and put some little construction 'dinkies' on it, digging in ground-up Oreo 'dirt.'

I think it will be relatively simple, but does anyone have any cool ideas for it? I mean, he's three, he won't mind either way if it has machines and chocolate, but I'd like to do something really nifty. I went to Bulk Barn on Saturday to check out their rental cake pans, thought maybe they'd have one with roads built in or something, but nope.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I would take a normal square cake pan and make you own road or dump site on it, you can take cup cakes and make dirt piles you can take a dump truck and put icing in the back of it to look like dirt etc thats how we did them at work before.

Cupcakes, that's a good idea. I have a mini muffin pan, maybe I'll make some cake dirt piles out of those, have a few in the back of the dump truck!

    Great, thanks!
